Summary
Time Zone/Program Delay (available in Australia only)
The Delay Master 7 is a time-zone correction audio delay unit, offering four stereo AES-3 or Axia Livewire digital audio channels with independent delay settings of up to twenty-four hours. It boasts 24-bit 48kHz audio recording and playback, serial and IP data delay, as well as four contact closure inputs and outputs per channel as an optional extra. Mirrored (RAID-1) hard drives and hot-swappable dual redundant power supplies offer maximum reliability. The Delay Master can be synchronised to an internet time reference, to ensure accurate daylight saving transitions and switching using the in-built events scheduler. The delay is accurate to within less than one second in twenty-four hours.
Each channel in the Delay Master 7 provides a fixed time stereo delay in one frame (40ms) steps, offering an easy solution to transferring broadcast program across time zone boundaries or for simply delaying program for rebroadcast at a more convenient time.
Features
The unit offers a fixed delay mode, where the delay is manually selected, or an automatic time zone mode where the originator and destination time zones are selected and the appropriate delay is calculated, taking into account daylight saving when in force. Control is from a GUI interface on the optional inbuilt colour LCD screen or an external monitor. The Delay Master supports programmed event scheduling which can be set up to change the setting of any or all channels at predefined times.
An inbuilt audio monitoring and changeover card allows two Delay Masters to be combined as a redundant pair, with an alarm relay closure and automatic changeover in the event of failure of either unit.
