Summary
DISCONTINUED AND REPLACED BY DELAY MASTER 7
Built on a 64-bit Windows 7 Professional platform, the Delay Master 6 is a time-zone-correction audio delay offering two stereo channels with independent delay settings of up to twenty-four hours. Delay Master 6 boasts 24-bit 48kHz audio recording and playback, four contact closure inputs and outputs per channel, a mirrored (RAID-1) hot-swappable hard disk array and hot-swappable dual redundant power supplies for maximum reliability, automatic delay adjustments for daylight saving and an in-built event scheduler. The delay is accurate to within less than one second in twenty-four hours. An AES3 digital audio version is also available.
Each channel in the Delay Master 6 digital audio delay provides a fixed time stereo delay in one frame (40ms) steps, offering an easy to use solution to transferring broadcast program across time zone boundaries or for simply delaying program for rebroadcast at a more convenient time.
The unit offers a fixed delay mode, where the delay is manually selected, or an automatic time zone mode where the originator and destination time zones are selected and the appropriate delay is calculated, taking into account daylight saving when in force. Control is from a GUI interface on the optional inbuilt colour LCD screen or an external monitor. The Delay Master supports programmed event scheduling which can be set up to change the setting of either or both channels at predefined times.
Audio input and output is high level (+24dBu peak) balanced and is linearly sampled at 48kHz, providing in excess of 20kHz bandwidth with less than 0.01% distortion. On-screen VU meters indicate input and output level on each channel, as well as input and output contact closure and serial data activity.
A serial data stream can also be delayed along with the audio. RS232 inputs and outputs are provided and support data rates from 1200 bps to 76800 bps.
The Delay Master can be synchronised to an Internet time reference to ensure accurate switching times for events and daylight saving transitions.
A high quality audio bypass relay is fitted to route audio directly from input to output when the unit is switched off or otherwise not functioning.
NEW IN VERSION 6.10 – Axia Livewire support and optional SNMP monitoring!
